That’s cool. Here’s a link on how to put the image to your sidebar: http://lorrainemariereguly.wordpress.com/2013/09/17/how-to-add-images-to-your-sidebar/. And you don’t have to list 15 sites if you don’t want to. Just do what you feel like. It’s Your award and you can do it as you choose. Thank you for being willing to try it! Congratulations to you!

I love this! I absolutely agree. I’m sharing my experiences for similar reasons.

    • zedmondson

Awesome! I believe the more exposure there is to mental illness, the less stigma would exist. Through seeing what others with mental illness deal with they can sort of get an understanding of what it’s like. And I think understanding is key to fighting stigma.

      • mtdenham

Absolutely. One key area I think we can make a difference is talking to teenagers in schools about this. Education is key, of course that ties in with understanding. I am volunteering with the Canadian Mental Health Association and I’m hoping to go around schools to share my experiences with mental health. 🙂

      • zedmondson

Definitely. It touches everyone’s life at one time or another and it’s better to know what’s going on than to just be thrown in the deep end. As a friend, relative or person who is suffering. That’s so awesome! I’d love to do something like that when I’m able.

I want to say a much-belated, yet still-relevant “thank you” for following “A Way With Words.” My joy in writing is made more complete when people read what I’ve written (and even more when they respond).

While I write primarily on faith and mental illness, I’m known to dabble in other subjects, stories, and even the occasional poem. If you have any requests, please let me know.

I appreciate your efforts here to fight stigma over mental illness by sharing your story. I pray you are blessed in your life and writing, as you bless others.

    Gratefully,
    Tony Roberts

I started my struggle with mental health earlier this year and finally feel like I have a handle on things. It’s hard but great idea for starting a blog! I’ve found amazing comfort in writing and finding others who can relate. I’ll be sure to read more 🙂 Be sure to check mine out, it may be able to help!

I have only been blogging about my Bipolar Journey for less than a month and am finding it very beneficial to my spirit. I think writing is a healthy outlet and fights the feeling of isolation that sometimes goes with my being Bipolar. I have learned that many share my story and am looking forward to reading more of yours. Sometimes we are funny as hell, not just sad and blue. I am not young a beautiful like you, just old as dirt. Wish I had started blogging years ago

    • zedmondson

It’s very helpful, isn’t it? I have been blogging it since I was 14 (prior to even being diagnosed) and it’s good to see how much you evolve as a person in time through treatment and experiences. You’re completely right – we’re not just sad and blue. You may not be as young as I am but you are beautiful, you should always remember that 🙂 xx

One must wear his (or her) heart on their sleeve. It’s so important, I’d say.

Zoe, thank you for your courage. You are giving so many people a slice of hope with your vulnerability and transparency. Thank you again, for your courage. I am really looking forward to delving deeper into your posts.

Hello again, Zoe. It’s been some time.

I am reconnecting with some long-standing blog followers with some exciting news.

I have now transformed my blog into the website “Delight in Disorder: Faith & Mental Illness” (delightindisorder.org). As a man of faith with over 25 years of “lived experience with bipolar disorder,” my goal is to share hope with others who have troubled minds and shatter stigma through stories.

I hope you will join me there.

    Take care & God bless,
    Tony

Hi dear! I found your blog when I was searching for limerence and bipolar disorder. I have a really tragic story about it. It happened when I was alone, studying abroad, and it led to hospitalization and a psychotic episode (my first and only one), which I said a lot of incoherent things to this person that lives in my heart and mind for years. I can’t get over him, and it was really bad. Still is.
So, first of all congratulations for speaking your mind in this blog. It’s a well applied energy, you are helping a lot of people and probably letting your thoughts clearer. I appreciate that. And, if you would like to have a friend from overseas to talk about bipolar disorder or whatever, I’m here. 🙂
